When I was making the playlist for my brother’s wedding earlier this summer (yes, I did get the best job), I came across an amazing, amazing song, and it has haunted me all summer (in a good way).
Remember the song “I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles)” by The Proclaimers, circa 1988? (If you are a fan of How I Met Your Mother, then you’ve probably heard it once or twice). Anyhow, my brother asked to have this song played during the dinner or dance portion of the night. So, as I was looking for the song on iTunes, I came across a cover by the band Sleeping at Last. If you have watched So You Think You Can Dance at all this season (which you should have), then you would have heard a few of their songs. When I listened to the preview, I was completely taken aback at how beautiful the words were, as well as the music. I realized that I had no idea what the song was really about. I was speechless. I was in tears.
