What’s in My Makeup Bag #3

This month when it comes to my daily makeup, I’ve been keeping things extremely simple. It’s become this way for a few reasons, but mainly it’s because I can be slightly lazy in the mornings and have been a little slow to get up so I’m left with only a few minutes for my makeup before I have to run out the door. It’s worked out well though, because I’ve been having some good skin days, so I don’t feel like I need to pile anything on.

SMASHBOX Iconic Photo Finish Foundation Primer. I love this primer. I love it so much that I actually wear it by itself, without any foundation or tinted moisturizer. I love it because it really does blurs and smooths my skin and gives the appearance of smaller pores, which is perfect when I don’t have time to add anything else.

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles Treatment Concealer (160, Brightening). Last month, I mentioned that I had been disappointed in this concealer and had switched to the Maybelline Fit Me concealer. One day, I decided to try to use this underneath the Fit Me concealer as a correcting concealer under my eyes. I have really liked the effect. I feel like it does neutralize the visible veins under my eyes and works as a good base for any extra coverage I may need.

Maybelline Fit Me Concealer (15, Fair). As I said, I have been using this on top of my brightening concealer under my eyes. I’ve found that doing it that way provides the perfect amount of coverage, and also makes it so I use less product, which stops me from getting heavy handed and making it cakey. I also use this on any redness (usually around my nose or cheeks) and any blemishes. I pat it gently into my skin and then finish blending with my trusty beautyblender.

Benefit Cosmetics Creaseless Cream Shadow (Birthday Suit). Most days, I’ve been going without eyeshadow, but on the days that I have an extra minute, or feel like my eyes need something extra, I’ll pat this lightly all over the lid. I really like this shade because it looks really natural, but still makes me look like I’ve put some effort into my look.

Benefit Cosmetics Roller Lash Mascara. I was able to get a sample of this new mascara last month in one of my online Sephora orders. I knew I wanted to try the new mascara, but wasn’t sure about spending the $29,  so I jumped at the chance to try out a sample. I really was not a fan of Benefit’s They’re Real Mascara, so I was skeptical about this one. But, I was pleasantly surprised with it. I do still need a lash curler, but this will give my lashes a bit of curl if for some (strange) reason I didn’t have access to my eyelash curler. I feel like it works best with only one coat, because (in my experience), it tends to get clumpy and spidery after that. But, because this is such a black mascara, one coat does the job.

REVLON Colorburst Lip Butter (Strawberry Shortcake). I have fallen deeply and madly in love with this lipstick over the last month. I’ve worn it nearly every day, and am really close to needing a spare. This is my perfect pink. I love this shade because it’s pretty sheer, I can apply it without a mirror and it goes seamlessly with any makeup look.
