Empties | Products I’ve Used Up #4

emptiesproductsiveusedupjune15Once again, I have finished a lot of products in a month, so I want to talk about them before my bag overflows. May saw the end of a lot of skin care bits, the usual body butters, a couple of hair products and one nail item — no makeup this month.emptiesproductsiveusedupjune15-4Essie, Quick-E Drying Drops. I’m not sure how I lived so long without this magic. I’ve mentioned this before, but I just have to say again how much I love this stuff. I use it at least once a week. After applying my favourite top coat, I put one or two drops on each nail. My nails are dry within a minute, and they stay smooth and don’t get bunched up (you know what I mean, right?) or chip when I decide to clean or do the laundry right after doing my nails. I already had a backup before I finished this one and I’m already 1/5 through it.

Gillette Venus, Olay Vanilla Cashmere Shave Gel. Not much to say about this one. I really like this range because they lather really well, keep my legs moisturized while I’m shaving and just do their job. This one smelled like vanilla yogurt, which isn’t my favourite, but it works well enough to forget that.

The Body Shop, Coconut Body Butter and Satsuma Body Butter. By now you are probably aware of my body butter obsession. I always have to have a tub of coconut body butter — it’s that good. I think Satsuma is my second favourite scent. It lasts all day and I don’t need to add perfume when I use it.

The Body Shop, Nutrigranics Softening Cleansing Gel Oil. I already mentioned this in my morning skin care routine post, so I won’t say too much about it here. I loved using this in the morning for a quick cleanse, and loved how soft it makes my skin. On days when my skin felt tired, or I just wanted a bit of pampering, I liked to spend a few minutes massaging it in before adding water to emulsify. I haven’t picked up a replacement yet as I have a few cleansers to try, but definitely will in the future if I can find it (it doesn’t seem to exist anymore according to their website — only the cleansing gel).

The Body Shop, Camomile Silky Cleansing Oil. Yes, another Body Shop product — that store is just too good (I also probably purchased these all at the same time). I mentioned this in my evening skin care routine post, so you can go here for my full review. Although I still like the Boscia cleansing oil best, I prefer the price of this one, so I have already repurchased it and will likely do so again when the new one runs out.

emptiesproductsiveusedupjune15-3Kiehl’s, Midnight Recovery Eye. Another product from my evening skin care post. This lasted me quite a while, and I really enjoyed using it. I liked that it was moisturizing, and heavy too, which I look for in a night eye cream. I haven’t repurchased it yet, as I still want to try others out first, but definitely would recommend it and will probably buy again soon.

Olay Fresh Effects, Bright On Schedule! Eye Awakening Cream. Yet another item from my morning skin care routine (seriously, everything always end all at once). This wasn’t that special, but I did really enjoy the cooling applicator tip for tired eyes in the morning. I would probably pick this up again if I didn’t have anything else to try and wanted something inexpensive.

Yes To Cucumbers, Soothing Daily Calming Moisturizer. I talked about this in my morning skin care routine as well. I really liked this in the mornings, as I found it moisturizing, but not too heavy for under makeup. I also found that I got used to the cucumber smell and barely noticed it at the end (I wasn’t too sure of it when I started using it). I do wish that the packaging was clear so that I could know when I was almost finished it. I would definitely buy this again, and will be looking into other products from this range.

emptiesproductsiveusedupjune15-2Vasanti, Brighten Up! Enzymatic Face Rejuvenator Exfoliating Cleanser. I got this one in my March Birchbox. I wasn’t that impressed with it. It was a little too gritty for a face exfoliator, so I would use it on my elbows or knees when I was exfoliating before applying self tanner. I won’t be purchasing the full size.

Beauty Protector, Protect & Detangle Leave-in-Conditioner. I also got this in my March Birchbox. I really liked this. It smells delightful, and made my hair so soft. On days when I would use it, I would think, “why is my hair so soft?” and then remember that I had used this. I would say that it is comparable to my favourite Bumble and bumble primer. I will definitely be purchasing a full size in the future.

Batiste, Dry Shampoo Tropical (Coconut & Exotic). I sadly finished this the other day. I have now been converted! I mentioned in my April favourites how amazing this dry shampoo is. I think I have found my new favourite. I plan on trying all the scents, though I’m pretty sure I’ll still love tropical the most. I have already bought a new one and feel like Batiste and I have started on a beautiful hair journey.

Have you tried any of these? What products have you finished recently?

ps. Empties 1, 2, and 3, dry shampoo overview and  the perfect spring nail polish.
