St. Tropez In Shower Gradual Tan

sttropezinshower3When I talked about St. Tropez tanning mousses and lotions last month, I mentioned that I was excited to try the new in shower tan that I had just been released. A week later, I was ordering a few things from Sephora and checked to see if it was available yet, and there it was!

The In Shower Gradual Tan is the newest innovation in at-home sunless tanning. It claims to give a “buildable glow” after just three minutes. I’m all for a quick and easy tan, so I was definitely excited to try it out. After you are finished your cleansing in the shower, turn the tap off and spread the lotion in circular motions to get an even, streak-free tan. Just wait for three-minutes (sometimes it feels like longer than that, sometimes shorter) and then rinse it off with warm water. Some days I do it when I have a hair mask in — gotta love some multitasking.

The first time I used it, I didn’t notice a difference, but I wasn’t really expecting anything after just three minutes. After four or five days, I started to notice a slight difference, but it definitely wasn’t a golden glow. Lately I’ve been using it to maintain my tan, and it is doing a good job of that. I like that it is definitely streak-free and the three-short minutes is better than 8 hours of tanning mousse.

I’m definitely disappointed that the colour wasn’t as dark as I was hoping, but I do think it works great to keep my tan from becoming uneven, and as a good base if you’re super pasty like me and your colour doesn’t always stick. I also think that this will be a great option come winter time when I don’t necessarily want a deep tan, but want a slight glow as opposed to my basically translucent pale.

Have you tried St. Tropez In Shower Gradual Tan yet or something like it? I’d love to hear what your thoughts!
