Origins High-Potency Night-A-Mins Skin Refining Oil

originsnightaminsoil3Way back in May I mentioned in my summer beauty list that I was in need of a new face oil. I really loved the Fresh Seaberry Moisturizing Face Oil earlier this year, and missed it when I finished it. I went back and forth between purchasing a full size of that (I tried the small bottle first), or if I should try something new. I decided to try something new.

originsnightaminsoil4Recently Origins released the High-Potency Night-A-Mins Skin Refining Oil. The face oil, which is designed for use in the evening, is filled with great ingredients like vitamins C and E, salicylic acid for gentle exfoliation, essential oils like vanilla, orange, neroli and valerian as well as pomegranate, cranberry and clay sage for a soothing effect. If you’re sensitive to any of those ingredients, this might not be the best for you. However, I have pretty sensitive skin and I haven’t had any adverse reactions, so I think that the balance of ingredients is really good.

I use this oil after cleansing and before applying my night moisturizer. Three drops is usually good enough for nights when I just want an extra hit of moisture and plan on using my night cream on top. On nights when I want to use just the oil (which is once a week or just when I feel like it), I’ll use five or six and gently pat it into my skin after warming it my hands. It’s definitely not greasy, and soaks into my skin easily, so I don’t have to worry about getting it all over my pillow when I go to sleep (though I do try to wash my face at least an hour before I go to sleep so that doesn’t happen anyway).

originsnightaminsoil2This oil claims to add radiance to your skin, as well as making it smoother, rehydrated and vibrant. Since I started using it in May, I have definitely noticed all of those things. I haven’t had any breakouts (not sure if this has anything to with it though), and I have noticed that my skin is smoother and brighter in the mornings. I especially enjoy using it with Origins newest serum, the Original Skin Renewal Serum  which I got a deluxe sample of last month.

I think that regardless of your skin type, this would likely work well. Like I said, it’s not greasy, it soaks into the skin and definitely makes my skin brighter and smoother, as well as making it feel hydrated (which is something I struggle with). Also, another great thing about it is that is plastic, so it’s great for travel and I don’t have to worry about dropping it on the counter (which I may or may not have done with other glass bottles…)

What is your favourite face oil? Have you tried any of Origins products?
