July Favourites

julyfavourites2015

This month’s favourites post originally had about ten products, but I decided to narrow it down both for the sake of my time writing and your time reading. These five products have been the ones that I have used almost daily, the ones that I choose over everything else, and the ones that I am most excited about.

Laura Mercier, Radiance Foundation Primer. I mentioned this is my post earlier this month where I picked five products I would use if I were to get married today. Unlike other primers I have used in the past, this one has no weird glitter chunks. Similar to the look of the Becca Shimmer Skin Perfectors, this is a sheer primer that adds a natural, healthy glow to the skin. I love using this on days when my skin isn’t looking as bright as I like, or if I am using a foundation that tends to mattify my skin. It doesn’t make my skin oily and lasts well throughout the daily. Also, the first time I used it, a friend at church literally told me I looked radiant, so I know it definitely works.

Maybelline, Color Sensational Vivids in Hot Plum. A while back, I was looking at the other shades from the Vivids line, because I already love Vivid Rose so much. I added Hot Plum to my list, and didn’t think of it again until I saw this picture on Maybelline Canada’s Instagram. When I found out what shade it was, I just had to have it. I have been in love ever since, and have chosen it most days when I want a bright lip. It’s a gorgeous, bright fuchsia that tends more to the purple side so it’ll be a great one for transitioning to fall. It lasts well throughout the day and the creamy-but-not-too-creamy formula makes it a cinch to apply. You can see it in action in this Instagram post.

FLOWER Beauty, Shine On Lip Gloss in Lovely Lotus. This gorgeous pink-nude lip gloss has been perfect for days when I want something on my lips, but not a lot of colour. I’ve used it a lot when going for smokier eyes (like in this Instagram post), or on days when I’m going pretty minimal. It’s also the perfect pairing for Revlon’s Gentleman Prefer Pink (like in this post, and I think this one too).

Garnier Fructis Style, Deconstructed Beach Chic Texturizing Spray. I already talked about this in my surf spray post, so you can read my full review here. I have been using this almost every day this month, loving the soft, but messy waves that it’s giving me. It doesn’t make my hair crunchy, and I can barely feel any product in there. It also lasts pretty well into second day hair, though I will usually add some dry texturizing spray to give me some volume.

julyfavourites20155Benefit Cosmetics, Gimme Brow in Light/Medium. Way back in February, I tried the Gimme Brow in the darker shade, and felt it just wasn’t for me. I wrote a review on it then, because I really liked the idea of the product, but didn’t think there was a suitable colour option for me. Then last month, after realizing that I really didn’t want a brow product that made them darker (I don’t like the way it looks on me), I decided to try the light/medium shade even though it’s slightly lighter than my hair. It has been working out great for me. The formula isn’t messy or too thick, which makes it great to use and it doesn’t make my brows too obvious (I’m not a fan of thick brows on me, strange in the beauty blogger world, I know), but it keeps them groomed and adds a bit of fullness where I want it.

Have you tried any of these products? What have you been loving this month?

ps. June favourites, May favourites and April favourites.
