SST Cosmetics

sstcosmeticsreviewJust over a month ago, I received a few products from a Canadian cosmetics brand, SST Cosmetics. I had never heard about the company before, but was intrigued by the fact that they are Canadian and that the products are free of harsh chemicals and cruelty free. As I didn’t know anything about the brand or their products, I really wasn’t sure what to expect. SST Cosmetics carries a wide range from lipsticks to eyeshadows to skin care. I was able to try two eyeshadows and one lip gloss from the Quintessential Collection, and I feel like I was able to get a real sense of what they have to offer.sstcosmeticsreview2

sstcosmeticsreview4The High Shine Lip Polish in Vital is a pretty, understated pink. It is formulated with jojoba seed oil, vitamin E and sweet almond oil. It goes on well, without any stickiness and wears well throughout the day. It doesn’t bunch up by the end of the day, and is easily re-applied. It’s really close to my favourite lip gloss from Flower Beauty, with a little more pigment. I’m really happy that this shade comes in a lip gloss, since I know that this shade always looks terrible on me when it’s a pigmented lipstick.

sstcosmeticsreview3The Silky Eyeshadows come in so many shades, in singles and combos. Composed is a deep red-y plum shade, perfect for the upcoming fall (even though it’s technically from the spring collection). It is quite pigmented with the slightest hint of shimmer, which makes it great as an all-over shade or for the crease. Meek is one of the combo shadows, and has two shades. The shade which takes up the majority of the pan is a light matte vanilla, perfect for a base shade, and the smaller is a gorgeous champagne rose gold. The combination of these two shadows makes for a great easy-but-pretty look. All of the Silky Eyeshadows are creamy in formulation and free of parabens and other chemicals.

You can buy SST Cosmetics online, or at a variety of salons throughout the country. I would definitely consider buying these in the future, as it is nice to see a high-end brand that is Canadian.
