Happy Sunday! On Friday, I shared what I was keeping in my purse right now, and today I’ll share what was in my makeup bag that day, since it was already a long post. What I had in my makeup bag was actually a good representation of what I’ve been using most days this month. It’s been a while since I’ve shared my monthly makeup bag, so I figured now was a good time.
I’m still a big fan of Benefit’s POREfessional Face Primer, and use it most days (though I am still loving Laura Mercier Radiance Primer too). Most days I have been using CoverGirl’s Ready Set Gorgeous Foundation. This foundation gives a natural finish to the skin, and has a medium coverage, but is definitely build-able. For concealer, Maybelline Fit Me Concealer is still my favourite, and I don’t see it losing that status any time soon. After dusting on some powder to set my foundation and concealer, I’m done with the base.
For eyes, I’m all about the palettes right now, especially when I am taking my makeup on the go. For the last week or so, I’ve been using the Tarte Tartelette Amazonian Clay Matte Eyeshadow Palette a lot, because it’s my favourite for a soft smokey eye. Before I use any eyeshadow though, I need primer. Honestly, I don’t know how I used makeup for so many years without it. I’m still using the NARS Pro Prime Smudgeproof Eyeshadow Base. It has lasted me nearly a year already, and doesn’t seem to be giving up any time soon. It’s like Mary Poppin’s bag — there’s always something more in there. When I’m on the go, or want a mascara that I know will give me great lashes, I always go for CoverGirl Full Lash Bloom (in Very Black). I know I’ve talked about that mascara a lot, but it’s for good reason. It never disappoints.
Next comes the Honey Bronze Bronzing Powder from The Body Shop, which I dust around the perimeter of my face, and a little bit over the bridge of my nose to add some warmth since I’m currently super pale again. I’ve also been using highlighter on an almost regular basis lately, and have really been loving my newest purchase — TheBalm’s Mary-Lou Manizer, which is a beautiful champagne highlight. I then comb some of Benefit’s Gimme Brow, and some clear brow gel through my brows to keep them tame and give them some oomph. To keep everything in place, and make sure my face doesn’t look cake-y, I spray a few spritzes of Urban Decay’s All-Nighter Makeup Setting Spray all over my face.
What items are in your makeup bag right now? Do you find that you always go back to the same things like I do?
