The Weekend Post 09.20.15

theweekendpost092015Another week has come and gone! It’s been a busy one, but a good one. I’ve had another full week of classes, and I am still enjoying it! My Old English lecture is probably my favourite right now, but it might be because we learned pronunciation of Old English vowels and diphthongs this week and one of them sounds like Jimmy Fallon saying “ew”. It makes me laugh every time.

Besides my days of classes and homework, I read a great new book (which I wrote a post about on Friday), had a great lesson at a women’s meeting for church all about organizing and tidying (inspired by Marie Kondo’s The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up, which everyone is talking about right now), and of course fell more in love with fall, plaid and this perfume. I’m so happy that fall is here, I’m sorry if you’re tired of hearing it, but I’m not yet tired of saying it.

weekendpost092015-4We also helped out with the annual food drive for the Calgary Food Bank this week. For at least 8 years (that I can remember, though it might be 9 or 10), our church has partnered with the Food Bank to deliver flyers and bags to every house in the city, and then pick up the donations. I am always amazed at the generosity of my fellow Calgarians, and it makes me even happier to live in this beautiful city.

This morning we have church, where I will try to persuade 7 or 8 five year-olds to listen to me and sit in their chairs while we have a Sunday School lesson — it usually amounts to nothing, but we have fun anyway. I’m also excited for the Emmys tonight, but mainly just because Andy Samberg is hosting, and it’s bound to be a laugh-fest.

As for everything else I’ve been loving this week, here are my favourite links:

A makeup launch from the lovely Fleur de Force

A conversation without words from Jimmy Fallon and Justin Timberlake

A cute printable for Fall

A quick and easy, but super adorable hair style for Fall

One Pan Roasted Chicken with Fall Vegetables

I hope you have had a lovely weekend, and are enjoying your Sunday! Looking forward to another great week ahead as autumn officially begins!
