The Weekend Post | 13.12.15

theweekendpost131215It feels like it’s been such a long time since I’ve actually written a post! In reality, it’s been four days, but it feels much longer than that to me. I had planned to write this post last night since I had time to myself again, but I felt the pile of laundry and dirty dishes were more important to my sanity, and staying up an extra hour or two would not help it either.

It’s been quite a full week, and I have to say it’s been a while since I’ve been this relieved to be finished a week. Actually, it was probably about a year ago (basically to the day), which was my last day of work at Chapters. It’s strange that’s it’s only been a year since I quit working there to go back to school. It feels like a lifetime ago.

On Tuesday, I had my last day of classes, and I also finished up all of my assignments that day. Handing in my last assignment was really wonderful… at least until I think about what marks I could get. I still have finals this coming week and the next, but not having classes is wonderful. Now I can focus on studying and blogging and not feel guilty for not going to classes, or getting behind on my posts.

Friday night was our ward’s Christmas party. Christopher and I were in charge of it, and it was a lot of work! Thankfully we had someone in charge of food and the program, so we weren’t burdened too much, but we needed to make sure everything was running smoothly and take care of decorations. I really love planning parties, but I hate executing them. There’s always something that comes up last-minute to foil my plans, or the decorations don’t look quite the same as they did in my head. But, we had enough food, a lot of people came, and everyone I talked to enjoyed it, so that’s all that really matters. Also, it was a good learning experience and it’s done, so I don’t have to worry about it anymore!

Finally, last night we went to the Airdrie Festival of Lights. It’s been a few years since I’ve been there, but I always enjoy it when I do. We went with my siblings, nieces and nephews and my parents. The babies were all bundled up and sleeping, and Joey and Lottie seemed to have fun — especially when the trains came by. It was certainly colder than we would have liked, and the wind didn’t make it any better, but it was still nice to spend time with my family since we won’t be all together until after Christmas.

I’m looking forward to a quite week ahead and I really hope that I will be able to get everything done that I plan to with my time off. Expect to see regular posts again until Christmas! On days when I am too busy to blog, I always feel like I’m forgetting something and my day just doesn’t seem complete.
