The Weekend Post | 05.07.16

springbloomsThe Weekend Post series is back! I took some time off from it in April, either being too tired by Friday or Saturday night to write a post, or feeling like I had nothing important to share. But I have honestly missed it, and haven’t felt like my blog week has been complete without it. So, it’s back, and here to stay for the foreseeable future!

This week was mostly a good one. We had crazy good weather for most of the week, so much so that a little rain and clouds on Thursday wasn’t such a bad thing. I’m enjoying this whole early summer thing, and hope that it continues for a long time.

beloverly.comI finally finished the update to the design of the blog that I’ve been wanting to do for months. I love the bright, fresh look and how easy it is to navigate. I got my theme from Adrien at Eclair Designs. It took me a few days to figure out the new features and get everything looking the way I wanted it to, but I’m really happy with the result. The change has also been a great motivation to share better content and continue to grow Be Loverly. It’s like buying work out clothes or new cleaning products.

corawafflesWe celebrated my niece, Charlotte’s birthday a few days early, because my sister’s mother-in-law, sister-in-law and brother-in-law came to Calgary for a visit from Ontario. We had brunch at Cora in the morning, and then a party with family and friends in the evening. It’s always fun to see kids excited about cake and presents for their birthdays.

Today, Christopher and I are going to see Captain America: Civil War, and we are so excited! A love of Marvel movies is one of the few things we have in common, so I always take advantage of having time to spend time together like this. Captain America is my favourite, so I’m looking forward to this one especially. And tomorrow, we have a day of church and family time to celebrate Mother’s Day, which I know will also be a great time.

And now a few of my favourite links from this week:

New Essie polishes (with a completely new look).

Dyson is releasing a hair dryer this fall.

#OutOfOz performance of “For Good” by Kristin Chenoweth and Idina Menzel.

2 Hacks for a Front Braid on Dark & Straight Hair.

73 Questions with Derek Zoolander.

Little Big Shots on The Tonight Show.

What are you up to this weekend? I hope you enjoy the sunshine, and time celebrating the wonderful women in your life!
