The Perfect Blue | Mani Monday

It’s been ages since I was excited about a new nail polish, hence my lack of Mani Monday posts lately. However, that has changed since picking up a new shade this past weekend.

Essie recently released a new collection for their Gel Couture line, the ballet nudes. The shades are inspired by (you guessed it) ballet and feature soft, understated colours. While I still have my eye on shades like “satin slipper” and “lace me up”, it was “perfect posture”, a soft powder blue that I needed in my collection immediately.

“Perfect Posture” is more obvious than a neutral, without being bold and showy. It’s my perfect polish to transition to spring with (though I really haven’t been too fussed about seasonal specific palettes lately), and will go with basically anything due to the lightness of the shade. It applies like a dream, which didn’t surprise me since I already know I adore the gel couture formula, and though it can take up to three thin coats, it’s so pretty I didn’t mind spending the extra few minutes applying it. The shade is very similar to “borrowed & blue” or “find me an oasis”, but because of the gel formula, it applies much better and will last longer too.

What’s your go-to nail polish heading into spring?
