Friday Favourites

Happy Friday! Despite the fact that winter has decided to get serious again, it’s been a good week. I’ve spent most of my days inside, watching movies and reading books with my nephew (he usually to pick 2 or 3 favourites every week and we have to read them over and over). I’m so lucky to be able to work from home right now. I also went to see “The Greatest Showman” with my mom and sisters too, so of course I’m now that annoying person that won’t stop talking about it and I’m listening to the soundtrack on repeat every day. I am so happy that musicals are making a comeback.

When I’m not listening to “The Greatest Showman” soundtrack, I’ve been listening to old records that I got from my mom on my new record player that Christopher gave me for Christmas. I listen to records so much now that when my nephew wants to listen to music, he goes to the record player (often trying to turn it on – thankfully he’s only figured out how to turn on the receiver and not the turn table). It’s been fun listening to old favourites these last few weeks and being reminded of my childhood listening to my parents records from the 70s on weekends while cleaning the house. Music has really changed in the last 40 years.

Before I sign off, here are a few links that will help start your weekend off right:

Blow Dry mistakes you may be making, and how to fix them, from the hairstyle guru, Kate Bryan (The Small Things Blog)

Perfectly pink pasta for Valentine’s day (or Galentine’s day)

Sali Hughes interviews Bobbi Brown for her “In the Bathroom With..” segment (Part 1 and Part 2)

This dress has me dreaming of sunny spring days

The best pasta salad recipe I’ve ever tried (I’ve made in three times in the last two weeks)

What are your plans this weekend? I’m looking forward to a quiet weekend of reading, catching up on TV shows and maybe even convincing the husband to go see a movie with me (guess which one).
