While I spent last week talking about the best of 2014, I wanted today to be about making the best of 2015. I’m not one to make resolutions, mostly because resolutions seem inflexible, make it or break it statements you make one day a year because you’re unhappy with events of a previous year. So, I make goals. Goals can be changed, expanded, altered, and change as the year goes on. I’ve made a lot of goals this year, so I thought I would share some of the less personal ones today.
1. Use what I have. I tend to accumulate a lot of stuff. I am definitely prone to advertising, and I love trying new things. And let’s just be honest — I like to buy things. But sometimes that means that I end up with 30 hand soaps. I’m not even joking. I am really working on minimizing our life, and using products before I buy new ones is a big part of that. I’m already having difficulty with it, but I will keep going. Plus, finishing products is super
2. Wear more lipstick. As I mentioned last week, I have been really into lipstick lately. It took me a while to be comfortable and confident wearing it, especially bold colours. But I feel like I have learned how to wear lipstick, and also what works for me, so I’m excited to make lipstick more of a staple in my makeup bag.
3. Give more compliments. Is anyone else like me and loves receiving compliments? That may sound a bit vain, I suppose. But, on days when I really try to look nice, or even on days when I’m not, it’s nice to be recognized for my efforts. Plus, it just makes me feel good. There are so many times when I see a beautiful lipstick on someone, or pretty necklace or awesome shoes, and I don’t say anything. So, instead of just thinking it, I will say it, and hopefully make someone else feel good.
What are your goals for 2015? Do your goals have a theme to them?
