I wasn’t planning on doing a another empties post so soon, but I noticed this week that the empty bottles were piling up, so here we are. This month I’ve finished a lot of skincare products, and the usual body products.
Philosophy, Purity Made Simple Cleanser. This is one of those products in the beauty world that people either love or hate. I love it. It’s really gentle and cleans my skin without drying it out and making it feel squeaky clean. I have so many other skin cleansers I want to try out, so it will be a while before I purchase this again, but I will probably come back to it eventually.
Neutrogena, Ultra Gentle Daily Cleanser. I bought this one because it is geared towards sensitive skin. It really is gentle, but I did find it dried my skin out a bit. I won’t be buying this one again.
First Aid Beauty, Skin Rescue Deep Cleanser with Red Clay. I got this cleanser in the Sephora Cleanse to Go set. I wasn’t a fan of this though. I found it to be a bit too strong, and since I don’t really suffer from clogged pores very often, I didn’t find it did much for my skin.
Fresh, Seaberry Moisturizing Face Oil. I mentioned this is my 2014 favourites. I loved this and was so sad the day it was done. I’m currently on the hunt for another face oil, just to try out something else, but I will definitely be purchasing another one of these in the future.
Philosophy, Renewed Hope in a Jar Eye. I got a deluxe sample of this over a month ago, and just finished it last week. I didn’t like the Time in a Bottle eye cream, so I wasn’t sure how this one would be. I really like it though. It was moisturizing and easy to blend in, making it a great base for my concealer. I might buy the full size, but I’m still on the fence about that.
Philosophy, Take a Deep Breath Oil-Free Energizing Oxygen Gel Cream Moisturizer. Seriously long name for a seriously good product. I loved the feeling of this on my skin in the mornings. It was refreshing and moisturizing but not heavy. I will definitely pick this up again in the future.
Aveeno, Skin Relief Body Wash. This is a great body wash. It was great for my skin recovering from another dry winter. I will continue to buy this one, especially because I can get it in a two pack at Costco for a really good price.
Aveeno, Daily Moisturizing Lotion. This is just your typical body lotion. It’s pretty good, but not the most amazing thing I’ve ever used. One thing I really loved though is that it sinks into the skin really well and really does last all day.
Gilette Satin Care, Shave Gel with a Touch of Olay. When it comes to shave gel, I’m not very picky. There are some that are obviously better than others, but I usually just grab the cheapest.
The Body Shop, Coconut Body Scrub. Yep, finished another one! I already talked about this in my last empties post here. Still so great. This one will always be one of my favourites.
Pantene, Root Reboot Dry Shampoo. In an effort to find good dry shampoo that is cheaper than my favourite (drybar Detox Dry Shampoo), I picked this one up. I usually see it on sale for less than $5, which means I don’t feel that bad that it didn’t really live up to my standards. It does soak up oil, but you can really smell the alcohol in it, and it doesn’t add much volume.
Bumble and bumble, Creme de Coco Masque. I raved about this in my 2014 favourites already, so if you’ve read that, you know how much I love this. Every time I used this, I was amazed at how soft and smooth my hair was. I will definitely buy this again.
Maybelline, Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circle Treatment and Concealer. I rarely finish makeup products, so I was excited to finish this one, but then immediately sad because I’ve loved it so much. I will likely buy a new one this weekend, but I am curious if there is something else like it out there. Does anyone know of a good brightening concealer for under the eyes?
It always feels good to finish new products and to see results, or no results even just to know whether or not something is really worth the money. I don’t think I’ll have enough empties for another post next month, but we’ll see.
