When I was younger (and even now), I dreamed of living somewhere else like New York, or California, or London. I always wanted to experience something new, something different. But no matter what I ended up, I knew that Alberta, that Canada would be always be my home.
I love being a Canadian girl. I love being part of a country that is known for being too polite. I love being part of a country that celebrates victories, and comes together during defeat. I love being a part of a country that celebrates diversity. I love being part of a country that lets me share my opinion and vote. I love being part of a country that has snow, even when it comes more often than I would like sometimes. I love being part of a country that has seasons, even if some are shorter than I’d like and others too long. I love being part of a country that makes me proud. I love being part of a country with beautiful landscapes. I love being part of a country makes me want to go back when I leave.
I love being a Canadian. No matter where I go, this will always be my home.
