I love trying new skin care products, but because it can often take a while to figure out if something works really well for me, I forget to talk about them in my monthly favourites. In order to shed a spotlight on a few products I’ve been loving recently, I thought I would do a roundup of my current favourite skin care products. These are products that I’ve been using for the last few months that work well with my other favourites. Obviously others that I have mentioned in the past either on their own, in a favourites post, or in my skin care routine posts are still favourites and these haven’t necessarily replaced them, nor are these the only skin care products that I am enjoying at the moment.
Vichy, Aqualia Thermal Extra Sensitive Moisturizer. I received this as a PR sample in November and have used it every morning as the last step in my routine. It absorbs well into my skin and never makes it feel greasy, but it does offer a lot of hydration. I haven’t had any adverse reactions to it, and I wouldn’t expect anything less since this moisturizer is specifically formulated for those with very dry or sensitive skin. While I do love using it every morning, I wouldn’t use it as my night-time moisturizer. The only reason for that is that I prefer a lotion that is more wet. The packaging is also great, as it has a pump so I get the perfect amount (I usually use two pumps to cover my whole face and neck) and it’s also more sanitary if you’re concerned about using cream from a jar.
The Body Shop, Vitamin E Overnight Serum-in-Oil. I think I’ve been using this for close to six months, but I keep forgetting to talk about it. I use 3-4 drops of this serum nearly every night, and I love the way it makes my skin feel. It adds moisture, but it doesn’t make my skin feel greasy and absorbs very quickly so that I can follow it up with my face oil or moisturizer. When I wake up, my skin feels soft and hydrated.
Soap & Glory, Peaches and Clean Deep Cleansing Milk. This has been my cleanser of choice for both morning and evening, and I love it. First off, it smells like peaches which is a lovely treat. But more importantly, it cleanses my skin without drying it out and leaves it feeling nourished. While it claims to clean makeup off your face, I would say that’s half-true. It can clean makeup off, but I don’t think it does as good of a job as a cleansing oil, so I prefer to use it as my second cleanse in the evenings. I love it when a cleanser just makes my skin feel clean, but not like I need to add a pound of moisturizer on to get rid of that dry and tight feeling, and this cleansing milk from Soap & Glory does just that.
Have you tried any of these products? What are your favourite skin care products at the moment?
