As you know, I am an Essie girl through and through, but a close second favourite has to be Formula X. Exclusive to Sephora, Formula X has a wide range of colours, with something perfect for every season and every mood. I have bought a few colours in the last few years, and have fallen in love with the collection. They added new colours to the range within the last month (my favourite thing about nail polish is that there is always something new to love), and I picked one up on a recent trip to the mother land.
Wingwoman is a beautiful bright red with pink undertones. Somewhere between Essie’s Altitude Attitude and Lollipop, it’s the perfect bright red. Though I really do consider most reds to be perfect for any occasion and any season, I believe this one actually is the real deal. Without a hint of orange, it doesn’t feel too much like a spring shade and with little to no berry tones, it doesn’t feel like it belongs in December either. If the colour were the only thing wonderful about this polish, I would still be singing it’s praises, but the formula makes it that much better. Like all Formula X polishes, it is creamy and smooth and goes on opaque in one coat (but does better with two thin coats). When I applied it the first time, I forgot to use a top coat (I was going to bed and didn’t want to wait another 20 minutes for a top coat to fully dry) and it lasted at least 4 days with no chips. It probably would have lasted even longer, but I was in the mood for a different colour. You know it’s a keeper when that happens!
