I mentioned on Twitter last week that I had been on a few trips to the drugstore recently, and that I might do a post on my haul, and thanks to the one person that voted “yea” to that, here I am! I’ve cut back on my beauty purchases quite a bit this year, so I haven’t spent much time browsing the aisles of Shopper’s. But when I’ve needed to replace an empty product, or something is brand new that I want to try, I am there (though I remember now why I’ve avoided shopping lately — I WANT IT ALL!). Budget brands are really stepping up their game lately, and I’m excited about all of the new launches that will be out this year. I’ve bought a few new things, new things to me, and favourites to replace empty or old products. Keep reading below to find out what I bought, and what my impressions are so far.
Soap & Glory, Peaches and Clean Deep Cleansing Milk. I mentioned this in my recent skin care post and bought another the other day to replace the (nearly) empty bottle. I love how gentle, yet effective this cleansing milk is. Plus that lovely smell of peaches in the morning or before bed doesn’t hurt either.
Essie, Muchi, Muchi Nail Polish. Though I really don’t need more polish (I actually just reduced my collection by about half in the last week), I couldn’t resist this gorgeous number. It’s currently my perfect pink, and you can read all about this gorgeous shade in my review here.
Essie, Mint Candy Apple Nail Polish. I have loved this shade for many years, and had to replace my old bottle, since the consistency was starting to change. Also, I’m interested to know from others who have this shade, is yours more blue toned or green toned? It seems that every single bottle of this shade is different.
L’Oreal, Colour Riche Mono Eye Shadow in Pain Au Chocolat. L’Oreal recently released a bunch of individual shadows as part of their Colour Riche line and this shade grabbed my attention right away. The formula is creamy, soft and blends really well. Plus, that golden brown shade is just perfect for every day.
Maybelline, Color Sensational Vivids Lipstick in On Fire Red. The Vivids are one of my favourites when it comes to drugstore lipsticks (I should probably do a post all about them..) so when I saw that they were on sale, I decided to pick up this gorgeous red. I haven’t tried it on yet, mostly because it kills me a little to ruin that perfectly crisp bullet, but I have seen it on others, and I expect the formula will be just as good as my other favourites (like Hot Plum and Vivid Rose) from the line.
Rimmel, Match Perfection Foundation. This is a new formulation of the well-known foundation, and since I really like the Lasting Finish Foundation, I thought I’d try this one out too. I’ve tried it once, and I think I like it, but I will have to try it a few more times to make sure. I will do a full review on it once I try it out more, so be sure to watch out for that.
Have you tried any of these products? What drugstore launches are you excited about right now?
