Happy Saturday! I’m so glad that the long weekend is here! It kind of snuck up on me, and I hadn’t realized that we were so far into May already, but I’m not going to complain. It’s always nice when Christopher has a day off work, even if we don’t do anything special with that day.
This week has been pretty normal. More driving lessons (two this week), and time hanging out with my family. On Wednesday, I had a lovely morning walking with a friend and enjoying the good weather and company. I did learn a lesson that day though. When you know exactly how to get home, and how long it will take you (especially when you have somewhere to be), go that way. I made the mistake of taking an unfamiliar route home afterwards and ended up turned around and walking a couple of kilometres north of where we live. Thankfully, my sister-in-law was able to rescue me (and my aching feet) so that I didn’t have to walk the extra 20 minutes home. By the end of the morning I had walked nearly 3 hours straight (with a few hills here and there). It’s a good thing that it was a gorgeous day. Unfortunately, my hips didn’t want to work on Thursday and I could barely walk all day (especially after sitting for a few hours writing blog posts). My legs are almost back to normal now, and I will be adding a good walk to my routine every morning now so that I never feel that ache again after a non-strenuous work out. It’s a bummer when your body reminds you that you are really out of shape.
Tomorrow is my dad’s birthday, so we are celebrating with the fam tonight. I’m looking forward to the good food, and good times with everyone.
