One thing that I love about the new year, besides having a fresh start, is having an excuse to try new things on this blog. Yesterday, I announced that I would be starting a book club, and today I’m starting a new weekly tradition (or reinventing it actually). I’ve missed doing a weekly roundup of my favourite products and links, as well as sharing what I’ve been doing in my personal life. So, from here on out, on Fridays, you can come to this space and find out what I’ve been doing and loving all week.
With the new year beginning on Monday, I started a new planner, as I do every year. This year, after a lot of research over the past few months, I decided to try the Simplified Planner from Emily Ley. I’m only 5 days in, but I’m already a believer. I love Emily’s philosophy about simplifying to make time for what matters most in your life. If you don’t already, you should follow her on Instagram to get updates on product launches, her adorable family, as well as the Simplicity Challenge, which is her 31 day challenge to get your home and life back to basics. (You can purchase your own Simplified Planner here — and a side note, the 2018 planners aren’t currently on sale, but they might be again soon, so I will keep you updated on that).
As I’m getting my whole life simplified and organized right now (we even cleared out our spare bedroom of all of the extra boxes with no home from our move last year so that we can actually use it as office space/my husband’s game room), I went on Pinterest this week to look for decor inspiration, and clean up my boards while I was at it. While I was deleting duplicate and irrelevant pins, I discovered that Pinterest has a new feature that allows you to group pins from a board into specific sections within that board. I don’t think you understand how excited I am about this. For the majority of the time that my nephew was napping this afternoon, I started organizing my boards, and I expect to continue to do so all evening while the husband is out for a guys night.
Before I sign off, here are a few other links that will help start your weekend off right:
This DIY rosemary and mint bath salt sounds amazing.
This pantry would be a dream come true.
If you are like me and want to make journaling a priority this year, but lack the time or motivation, these one-line-a-day journals are for you.
If you’re still looking for ideas for resolutions or goals for 2018, check out this post that I wrote for Wonder Forest last week all about unique New Year’s resolutions.
I’m looking forward to a relaxing weekend watching Netflix and eating in with the husband, even though we’re not experiencing -30 weather anymore, after Christmas and New Year’s, I’m ready to go back to hermit mode.
How is 2018 so far for you? What are you looking forward to this weekend?
