January Favourites

januarybeautyfavouritesEvery month when it comes to writing my monthly favourites post, I can think of one or two things immediately and can’t think of anything that I actually really loved. And then I give it a few minutes, and I have more products than I can put on my face or body in one day. This month is no different from the others. I did scale it back a bit though, just so that I would only be mentioning new products to me and avoid the broken record that I can turn into when it comes to talking about the things I love.

january2016beautyfavouritesEssie, Virgin Snow Nail Polish. I dedicated a post to this polish on Monday, so I won’t go on again about how much I love it, but suffice it to say, this is the perfect winter shade. This lovely pastel will be getting a lot of wear in the next few months.

Rimmel, Lasting Finish Matte by Kate Moss (106). Like the other shades from this range, this lipstick is incredibly pigmented (you can’t change your mind once you put it on), and has a very comfortable matte formula. The dark pink shade is lovely and perfect for days when I want something darker than a hot pink, but don’t want a red or berry. I’m wearing it in this photo that I posted on Instagram earlier in the month.

NEST, Midnight Fleur Eau de Parfum. I got this perfume from one of my brothers-in-law for Christmas and have worn it most days since. I originally tried it in a sampler set that Sephora had before Christmas (I also fell in love with the Indigo scent). With notes of exotic woods, black amber, patchouli, night-blooming jasmine and vanilla orchid, this perfume has been my favourite for day and night due to the fact that it’s warm, but not overpowering. It also lasts a really long time, which is always lovely.

Bite Beauty, Agave Lip Mask. Like I mentioned in my Winter Beauty Essentials post, this is the best lip balm I have ever used. It heals my lips almost instantly when they are cracked, and replenishes the moisture and acts as a barrier to future dryness. This is actually the second tube I’ve had to buy since November because I lost the original (I think it might have accidentally been thrown out, but I’m not giving up hope yet) and didn’t want to be without it.

Essie, Topless & Barefoot Nail Polish. This polish has been my favourite nude to wear this month. Like I shared in the post dedicated to it earlier this month, it’s a lovely nude with a hint of peach. The understated elegance of this shade was the perfect antidote to my January aversion to glitter and dark red nails (I always need a break after December).

L’Occitane, Shea Butter Hand Cream. Another product from my Winter Beauty Essentials. This hand cream does a great job of helping to heal my cracked and seriously dry hands when the temperature drops, and has been a life saver this month especially. When I skip a day of using it, I definitely notice a difference in how my hands feel, so I try not to miss applying it in the mornings and before I go to sleep.

Tarte, Tartelette in Bloom Clay Eyeshadow Palette. I shared a review of this palette (with swatches) which you can read here. I used this palette almost exclusively all month, and love the versatility of it. The colours are smooth, blend well, and I love that there are a few shimmer shades to compliment the lovely mattes.

Have you tried any of these products? What products did you love using this month?
