I haven’t tried anything from Annabelle Cosmetics in ages, so I when I was browsing the store a few weeks ago, I decided to take a closer look at the section. I’ve been loving shadow sticks lately (especially these ones), so when I saw two shades from Annabelle’s Smoothie Eyeshadow Pencil range, I had to try them.
The Smoothie Eyeshadow Pencils range in shades from the neutrals (obviously my favourite) to brighter, not-so-neutral shades. They claim to be long-wearing up to 9 hours and the most comfortable eyeshadows with “unmatched smooth application”. From a light taupe-y brown to rich purple to deep black, there’s something for every look. I picked up Mokamirage and Cocoaloco. Mokamirage is a beautiful light brown shade with hints of taupe, depending on the light. It’s great for light makeup days when I want something on my eyes, but nothing too dark or fussy. It goes on really smooth, and is pretty long-lasting, but only as long as I use a primer (due to my oily eyelids).
Cocoaloco is a deeper, chocolate brown with a bit of bronze (in certain lights). It’s not so dark that it looks bad without another colour blended with it, but is dark enough to be noticed. Also creamy like Mokamirage, the pencil format makes it super easy to work with, and great for smoking out the colour on the lower lash line.
Both of these shadows are perfect for days when I don’t want to spend five minutes blending my shadows, and am not too concerned with piling on layers of colour. They are easy to use, easy to blend, and definitely long-wearing. If you are in the market for a good eyeshadow stick, but don’t want to break the bank, I would definitely suggest you pick one up.
