In case you didn’t know, I love lipstick. I love wearing lipstick all year, but spring and summer are probably my favourite seasons to wear it because I love pinks, and I feel like most of my favourites look best this time of year. Though my favourites fill an entire drawer, today I’m sharing just my current top five.
For an easy non-mirror-needed-pink, I love Strawberry Shortcake from Revlon. I talk about this shade all the time, but it’s for a good reason. The creamy, moisturizing formula and light pink shade make it perfect for a soft spring look. For a little more punch, I am obsessed with Cherish, also from Revlon. I talked about this beautiful cool-toned pink in my Spring Makeup Menu, so suffice it to say this is currently my go-to for an easy, but bright pink.
It wouldn’t be spring without a bright lipstick, and Shocking Coral from Maybelline is just that. The coral shade is great for mixing it up, but it still has enough pink in there to work for me (I can’t do orange lipsticks). It’s creamy, but doesn’t slip around, which I love this time of year (and all times of year, actually). For a matte bright colour, I am forever in love with Sultry Samba from Revlon. It’s my perfect bright pink, and it’s an incredibly comfortable matte. Win-win…win.
It also wouldn’t be a top shelf lipstick list without a red. I may love pink lipstick for most days, but there’s just something about a red lip. Like I said earlier, I can’t do orange lipsticks, so I like to keep my reds in the spring classic and bright. My favourite at the moment is Pomegranate from Bite Beauty (Gazpacho is similar). It’s creamy, opaque, and so comfortable. Plus, you can never go wrong with a classic red.
