We’ve had almost a full week of September now, and it definitely feels like fall is already here. It’s Labor Day long weekend, which is usually summer’s last hurrah, but it’s definitely not feeling like summer outside. It rained most of the day yesterday, and our apartment was so cold I couldn’t be without a blanket or sweater for most of the day. Though the cooler temperatures mean I can finally wear sweaters again (yes, I’m that girl), I will definitely miss summer. I start classes on Tuesday, so I’ve worked hard this week to be more effective with my time so I can still post fresh content and keep up with my studies. At the moment, I still plan to post 6 days a week, but if my course load is too heavy, I might have to adjust that. I don’t think it will be a problem though.
Like I said, I spent a lot of the week doing some blogging, prepping for classes, and scheduling my month out. I also went shooting for the first time, with Christopher, his dad and one of his brothers. I learned that I will likely never shoot a shotgun again, but didn’t mind a rifle. However, I don’t think I will be joining them very often. Shooting is kind of a scary thing, even when you’re with other people who know what they are doing, and you’re at a very open and safe range. It was a cool experience though, and now I say I’ve shot a gun (though I’m not sure my heart has quite recovered yet from the sound of other guns going off around me). And despite the cold and rain last night, I just had to have some delicious ice cream from Village Ice Cream. There’s a reason everyone talks about it.
To start off the long weekend right, here are some of my favourite links from the week:
For fans of Parenthood, what Kristen Bell did for her husband Dax Shepard is amazing and beautiful
For those who want a laugh, watch Jimmy Fallon and Jason Sudeikis play a game of Drinko
For fans of luxury makeup, these new lipsticks from Christian Louboutin are stunning
For those who want summer to last a little longer, these Lime and Mint Popsicles sound refreshing and tasty
For fans of beautiful homes, Becki Owens’s Instagram feed is drool worthy
What do you have planned for the long weekend? I hope wherever you are, and whatever you are doing, that you enjoy some sunshine and relaxation!
