I’ve probably said this too much all ready, but I love fall, and I am so excited it’s here (unofficially). One of my favourite things about fall is the fashion. I feel like I get fall fashion. As much as I love summer, sitting in the sun and going outside without a jacket, I’m truly an autumn girl at heart. Because of this, you can expect far more fashion inspired posts coming your way in the next few weeks and months. In the spring, I shared a few of my favourite trends in fashion (here), so I thought I would continue that this season, but rather than talking about a handful, I want to focus on one today: plaid. Plaid is integral to every autumn, but this year it seems to be bigger than ever. From Old Navy to Kate Spade, plaid is taking over, and of course I’m loving it — perhaps it’s my Scottish roots?
I love that there is variety in the plaid prints, as well as colours right now. From this classic shirt in an unexpected yellow plaid to this buffalo check tunic, your day-to-day is covered. If you’re looking for a statement, these pants (or this pair) would be perfect. For the office or Sundays, Kate Spade makes it easy with this gorgeous skirt (similar here) and perfect bag. And you can’t go wrong with a cozy oversized scarf, like this one. If you’re not one for wearing plaid, but still want to take part in the trend, how about some Burberry polish in a perfect autumn red or forrest green?
