It may still be August, but fall is coming. Over the weekend, I noticed the weather starting to change a bit, as the mornings and nights are getting colder. The crispness of fall isn’t here yet, but I know it will be here soon. You may not be as ready as I am to embrace comfy sweaters and scarves, so today I’m sharing a few pieces you can add to your wardrobe as we transition from summer to fall.
Adding a cute scarf to your summer tees not only adds warmth for those chilly mornings, but can also introduce fall patterns, like plaid, into your wardrobe. A simple pair of tights and riding boots adds life to your summer dresses so that you don’t have to tuck them away just yet. For bags, I’m a fan of lighter colours right now (though black is a safe option year round). I’m currently obsessed with this handbag from H&M (also in burgundy and black) because it fits well with my summer and fall colour choices. For tops, I’m all about the flannels and cable knits come fall, but on sunnier days, I prefer to stick to light fabrics and classic patterns that I can wear with jeans, skirts or shorts if it’s warm enough. Soft plaid shirts in bright colours, chambray or fine knit sweaters are a great option.
These are just a few of the many things you can do to make the transition into September and cooler temperatures ahead. Simple adjustments, and using what you already have in your closet will definitely help to keep your wardrobe fresh, and make sure you get all the wear you want out of your clothes.
